Towards a shared declaration of intent for the harmonisation of the ITALY - MALTA cross-border policies

The online meeting "Towards a shared declaration of intent for the harmonisation of the ITALY - MALTA cross-border policies", will be organised on Tuesday 15 December from 13:30 to 15:30 by ISPRA. This is part of the Harmony Project, co-financed by the Interreg VA Italy Malta 2014-2020 Program.

The event concludes a long cycle of participatory meetings aimed at defining common tools and approaches for the harmonization of marine biodiversity protection policies in the Italo-Maltese cross-border area. In particular, it will be dedicated to the shared evaluation of a protocol of understanding scheme aimed at promoting cooperation and networking processes between the various actors of the environmental governance of the cross-border area in relation to the systems of surveillance and control of the integrity of the seabed and of the s non-indigenous species.

The outline of the memorandum of understanding is the result of reflections conducted as part of a long process of "participatory and inclusive" elaboration carried out by ISPRA and the Harmony partners. The aim of this last meeting is to prepare a version of the scheme that is inclusive of the contributions of the various stakeholders involved in order to be able to propose it later as a voluntary cooperation tool.
